Summer vacation is a time for teachers to recharge and refocus as
they prepare for another group of students. It started Friday, July 1
for children and they went back to school Aug. 26. The teachers
in my school still went to work July 1, Aug. 24 and 25.
We prepared lessons and painted benches.

Felix and I went on a day trip to 苗栗 with my colleagues. Regis was in kindergarten.
July 10, Sun
We went to the movies at VieShow twice within a week! We saw The Secret Life of Pets with Felix July 6 afternoon when Regis was in kindergarten and took the kids to see Finding Dory July 12 evening. Almost 5 year old Regis cried during the English speaking movie. He cries whenever there's a dangerous or sad scene and he hears loud sound in a movie. We saw Finding Nemo with BenQ projector at home before going to the theater.
July 17, Sun
My parents came to see Regis' performance this weekend. It's a PERFECT summer day for an outing to Pushin Ranch with them and my brother. Free admission this month. Regis was interested in Rhinoceros beetles.
July 24, Sun.
We spent 3 days with my junior high school classmate 曉琳 and her family in 宜蘭. We hadn't been to most of these spots. The last time I visited 五峰旗 was with my husband 11 years ago.
Well, my 6 year old nephew from my husband
side just arrived on the 23rd evening and stayed with us for 6 days. That means he went to 宜蘭 with us. Well, just imagine that me with a man and 3 boys!!!
July 26
Regis has lost his appetite during the whole trip. I found he's had a slight fever since last night.

We arrived in Kaohsiung by high speed train ($1020) July 29 afternoon. Regis was still suffering from cough and fever. He got a fever in the early evening and woke up fine. This was a weird thing that had happened for 5 days!
It's really nice to stay with my sis and her family and see my parents, aunts and cousins. My husband teaches summer classes, so he went home after the birthday celebration.
We went back to Eastern Taiwan within a half month. Our Hualien trip was postponed because of Typhoon Nepartak. I spent 4 years going to college in beautiful Hualien. She became one of my favorite cities and has been my must go place in Taiwan every year! It's the 4th time my children traveled to Hualien. This time we visited different places again!
Well, just after we came back from Kaohsiung, my sassy and rude 6 year old nephew arrived again and visited Hualien with us. Well, imagine that me with a man and 3 boys AGAIN!!!

We got tickets from my sis-in-law this morning. 2 weeks later we visited 宜蘭 again and had tons of fun playing in water. Besides, it's really nice chatting with my little uncle in his store.
My husband joined a 5 day group tour to 金門 and 廈門, China. We saw him off at Songshan Airport. My sons missed him so much that they cried on the first day.
Just before I went back to work, we went on a getaway to our hometowns. Wonderful to see my mom again. I had a fever on the first two days of work and then got better on the third day. Unfortunately, my symptoms got worse on the weekend: had a fever again and a bad cough. I lost 2 kg during the 5 days. I didn't seem to get ready for the new semester.
We bought a Panasonic NA-V158BB ECO NAVI+nanoe top load washing machine for $18990 last Friday and it'll arrive tomorrow.
Felix will start English class at Genius at the end of this month. His teachers are from Canada and Philippines. What a coincidence that the Canadian teacher Majid will teach Regis in kindergarten for the coming semester! Besides, Felix and Regis will go back to Yamaha again next month. So, we're getting busier again! Our schedule:
Mon: Felix takes English class
Tue: Regis takes piano lessons at home
Wed: Felix takes English class and Regis takes Yamaha
Thu: Felix takes cello lessons at home
Fri.: Felix takes English class and Yamaha
