our first camping trip

The truth is, I’m not really interested in camping, but having kids makes me do strange things. I feel like it's an important right of passage for my children and I want them to be more outdoorsy, so when my colleague invited us to join them, my husband got a cheap tent online in Feb. and this Sunday we went camping with 3 of my experienced colleague families at 山上有水! We arrived at the camping ground in the late rainy afternoon while everyone was there already.

Saturday outing to 滿月圓 and 大板根

A lot of walking today. We enjoyed walking in the cool and quiet forest and watching fireflies after dinner. It's the end of the perfect day!

Green World Farm

I liked the big grass and we could be so close to the animals like pelicans, alpacas and Formosan barking deers! My sons enjoyed the feel of grass beneath their feet.

Tomb Sweeping Day weekend 2015

The 4 day weekend started April 3. We spent the holiday with my parents in Taichung and in my mom's hometown 銅鑼. This month is first death anniversary of my grandmother. After the service at my uncle’s house on the 4th, we had lunch with the relatives from my mom’s side and then visited Hakka Cultural Park with my big uncle. It’s always nice to spend time with these relatives.

the last weekend in March

We visited IMei Factory yesterday afternoon. I've loved the products since I was a child.

We lunched at Taipei 101, went to the travel fair and had dinner at my favorite restaurant 陶板屋 today.

handmade green bean cake

It's been stressful and gloomy weeks since my parents in law came stay with us March 6th and it’s been a rainy week. My mother in law had knee replacement surgery at NTUH on the 9th and she needs to recover at our place. After work, I care for my kids, teach them piano, cook, watch Felix do homework, do laundry, and my in laws occupy my room and our personal space. I can’t stand their habits and my mother in law’s selfishness and silence! I just want to stay out with my kids on weekends!
However, this evening’s pictures relieve my displeasure temporarily.

one day tour of 銅鑼

After attending my cousin’s wedding lunch, we visited 客家大院 with my parents and brother. It's nice to see many relatives from my mom's side today.

Lantern Festival

3.5 year old Regis just started kindergarten this month. He’s adapted to the new life fast. Unlike Felix, he didn’t cry on the 1st day. He looks joyful and enjoys talking about what happens in the school! However, we have a hard time getting ready for school. The alarm goes off and the morning battle begins. My voice rises with each “wake-up call.” As the minutes tick by and they still have moved slowly, in desperation, I resort to screaming and yelling, though I know it isn’t a good idea. I’ll be late for work again, and I feel my blood pressure rising with every minute. Finally, my ADORABLE children walk into school, and I head to work. I’m LATE AGAIN!!!
My husband is away. He’s gone on a trip to the middle Taiwan with his students for 2 days. I decided not to cook dinner today. Just relax and enjoy the time with my little ones! We carried the lanterns they made in school and walked to an Italian restaurant for dinner after Felix practiced the piano.
