Finally, it's a sunny weekend! My dad took care of my 6 month old at home.We attended a wedding today.

Happy Lunar New Year

We spent the holiday in middle Taiwan. We left Taipei for my in-laws' Jan.22 (New Year's Eve) and stayed for 3 days, and then went to my parents' Jan.25 and stayed for a few days. My first son loved to be with my parents and brother. We came home Jan.31 evening.

Celebrate!

I’d dreamed that one day I could get a Master’s degree in the U.S. However, things change. I have a stable job just after leaving college, got married, and then my little ones came out. In the end, I obtained my Master’s degree in Music Education in Taiwan today, my birthday!

It'd been a stressful year. My husband and I were going through a dark time when we had Felix and especially because my mother in law stayed with us to help take care of him. I’m grateful. I’ve experienced what I wanted: backpacking and studying abroad before I became a mother. And now, I have 2 adorable children, and finished my graduate program.

a boy again!

I'd thought girl names, but guess what... it's a boy AGAIN and due in middle Aug. I do help the birthrate of boys continue to grow in Taiwan. I plan to make my Master's thesis oral presentation by the end of July, so I can get my degree this summer. Well, I'll just be getting busier in the coming months!

My son’s crazy about vehicles, such as a car, bus, or truck. He loves to play with his toy cars and trains, imagine something like vehicles, look at the pictures, and imitate ambulance sirens everyday!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

May 1 / 24 weeks

My baby moves more than his brother. My 1 year and 9 months old can speak short sentences, but has only 9 teeth. It's funny he sometimes poses as his expectant mother!

May 5 / 25 weeks

I saw one more bouquet of carnations in my vase when arriving in my classroom this afternoon. How delightful! Thank you, anonymous person. My baby's 639g. The doctor told me that I have a short cervix and that there is a possibility to have a premature baby. This is frightening for me. Oh~ baby, please don't come too early. Let's welcome you and celebrate mommy's graduation together this Aug., ok? Good news is my son a fussy eater, has 11 teeth!

May 18 / 26 weeks

Feeling fetal movements is fantastic! I tried not to let my baby gain too much weight. I've gained less weight than my first pregnancy, and my baby weighed 980g. Smaller than his brother.

My son can recognize and name a number of letters! He has 12 teeth. He hates having his teeth brushed and always screams when his dad brushes his teeth.

June 8 / 29 weeks

My mother and brother are taking a trip to Japan this afternoon. My dad and I will take my 1 year and 10 months old to see them off at the airport. My son must be excited to watch the planes take off and land.

It’s burning hot! I take a shower 4 times a day!

June 16 / 31 weeks

My baby weighed 1.5kg at 30 weeks. The doctor told me my baby is in a breech position so I need to try certain position at home that may help turn my baby. Hope it works!

June 27 / 32 weeks

I'm feeling stressed because of my studies, eye problem, flea bites, and baby in a breech position.  It's annoying that I have to fight against fleas in the busy days! I'll go to the hospital to have my left eye checked today. Hope all is well.

June 29 / 32 weeks

Good news was my baby turned head-down and the doctor said he has big eyes! He's 1.7kg at 32 weeks. His brother was 2kg then and born at 38 weeks. I think my baby will come before 40 weeks so I need to eat more. Well, bad news is we're still fighting against fleas. :-(

July 20 / 35 weeks

I love eating fruit during this pregnancy. My baby's 2550g. He grows fast and his muscles are stronger. I like to touch my belly and feel his movement. He seems to move more gently than his brother, who can speak well now.

Finally, committee member list and the date of oral were done last Friday after I made several phone calls, and it's just 1 week before my final oral on 22nd! My thesis was bound on 18th. I went to the hospital to have my left eye checked yesterday and will see the doctor next Monday. Hope everything goes fine.

July 31 / 37 weeks

I felt my baby's head has already descended into my pelvic cavity and it gives me a good appetite. This baby treats me nice. I rarely get spasms or itchy skin.

Today's my son's 2nd birthday (we bought him a Thomas Train as a present) and I just emailed my corrected thesis to my professor! relaxing~

Aug. 18 / almost 40 weeks

My baby weighed 3250g at 39 weeks. He's big enough and I already finished assignments of both summer courses I take! Hope he's ready to come out. My 2 year old has started to stammer since last week. Why??? Sometimes he doesn't stammer at all.

I'm one year and three months old and have 7 teeth. I like to sing. My favorite visitors are my grandpa and auntie on my mother's side. I went to a baby's first month party with my parents this evening.

My son is taller than average, but has only 2 teeth. He likes to watch people talking on the phone and is very naughty at home, but quiet in front of strangers. It's funny that he's afraid of his uncle, one of my hubby's younger brothers, and always in a state of alert when seeing him.

My baby often cries just before peeing and needs to fall asleep in someone's arms. The hardest work is feeding. He often keeps burping for several minutes or regurgitates milk, so I have to let him sit upright for at least 30 min. He likes to smile, talk, suck his fingers and watch the lights in the 3rd month. Also, he sometimes chuckles during sleep.

My baby is 7.5 kg at 4 months and full of excitement and vitality. He eats 120c.c. each meal, 700~800c.c. each day, including breast milk 600~700c.c. and some formula. I wonder why he farts a lot. I love to look at him and feel his breath and moving. We started sleeping on the same pillow last middle Oct.

He can't turn his body over yet. I guess it's because my mother-in-law always puts him in the stroller and holds in the arms. I couldn't breastfeed because my left foot was injured Dec.24 and I'd taken medicine for 2 weeks. That's why my milk supply is low recently. He eats 130~140c.c. each meal and is mostly formula-fed. He likes to stand and play with saliva and make bubbles at 5 months.

 
My mother-in-law and I loved the LeapFrog Alphabet Pal. Though my 6-month-old isn't ready to be introduced to colors and letters, I bought this toy $1485 at the department store Jan.29. My baby loves to put things in his mouth, so I bought 2 teethers. But, he doesn't like them. Interesting that he started to play with his penis when we bath him and change his diaper.

My baby gets tired of milk at 7.5 months, but he still likes to suck at the breast. I started giving him goat milk as well.

My son can sit well, stand up with support and clap at 8 months, but can't crawl. We've been told he looks just like his dad. He got his first tooth at 9.5 months, and likes to shake his body when hearing music.

March 9, 2009 / 17 weeks
It's a boy and he's due Aug.11! Ah, my skin becomes duller and dark spots and constipation appear. I become emotional. When I talk to my baby or read a book on pregnancy, the happy or concern tears well up in my eyes. I've gained 3 kg. I need to go shopping for pregnancy clothes soon.

March 17 / 18 weeks
I have dreams every night and sometimes get lower leg spasms during sleep. Guess I need to have more milk. I'm not interested in cooking. Luckily, my hubby's cooking skill is much better and he likes to do it.

March 22 / 19 weeks
My baby's muscles are stronger. I like to touch my belly and feel his movement. I can't wait to go to see Swan Lake performed by Ballet and Orchestra of Mariinsky Theatre with my hubby and baby at the end of March!

Dharma Drum Mountain-April 19 / 23 weeks

I've gained 6 kg, but people said my stomach looked small. My baby is energetic and weighed 604g at 22 weeks.

May 4 / 25 weeks
We started attending the free classes for expectant mothers on May 2. It's about postpartum care. I plan to attend lamaze and birthing classes later. I've gained 8 kg. My baby weighed 1 kg and moves a lot, especially when I lie down for bed. Thank my friend and sis-in-law for giving me the pregnancy clothing.

May 8 / 26 weeks

I redeemed an award with Asia Miles so we had free dinner at La Brasserie. My baby is strong and likes to kick. I can see the waves on my belly. I love to feel him moving. cute!

Many women guess I have a baby boy. They look at my belly and see how I'm carrying. If you're carrying high and wide, the baby is predicted to be a girl. If you're carrying low and in front, you're deemed to be carrying a boy.

May 31 / 29 weeks

I hate hot and humid weather which makes my sensitive skin uncomfortable. Ah, itchy belly and neck~ Even I'd suffered from nettle rash for almost 2 weeks, so I couldn't help but take some medicine. Hope it didn't hurt my baby.

June 6 / 30 weeks
My baby already weighed 1.8 kg at 30 weeks. a little bit bigger. I have to diet to control his weight. Because of my eye problem I hope he won't be over 3.2 kg when he's born.

June 19 / 32 weeks

We bought a Chick UV sterilizer and dryer with 3 free glass feeding bottles $3680 at the department store. I've gained 9 kg and my baby weighed 2 kg. I used to have pain on the right hip because my baby has loved to be on the right side and I usually feel all his kicks on the left. I wonder why I have a sore left waist recently.

July 25 / 37 weeks
I went for an antenatal check yesterday. I've gained 13 kg. My baby grows fast and likes to move. I guessed it! He's already 3 kg at 37 weeks! BIG enough. My belly is huge and I’ve got edema. The skin looks thinner so I can see and feel fetal movements clearly.
I'm busy with my schoolwork of summer graduate program. We haven't given our baby a name. I'll look words up in the dictionary when staying at the hotel room for mothers and newborn babies.

Valentine's Day

My hubby celebrated Valentine's Day with 2 girls this year. We went to Häagen-Dazs and had dinner at a curry restaurant at Global Mall. I bought him a pair of Baleno jeans.

winter break

This winter vacation started Jan.20 and I'll go back to school Feb.10. We drove to Center for Traditional Arts in Yi-Lan Jan.20 afternoon. It took only 1 hr from Shu-Lin to Yi-Lan through 雪山 Tunnel. We got an adult ticket $150 and a student ticket $100. I liked the traditional buildings and river scene in the center. We went to 川湯春天 Spa Hotel in 礁溪 on the way home. $880 for a 90-min room. The big glass wall between the bedroom and bathroom and the big round bathtub were awesome!

We spent the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday with our families in the sunny middle of Taiwan, away from crowded and cloudy Taipei. By the way, can you see I gained 2kg from these pictures?

I'd been busy with the yearly music competitions. At the end of the choir contest this afternoon, I  breathed a sigh of relief.

After months of rehearsals, hard work and determination, there were three 6th grade girls of our school took part in the solo traditional music competitions Nov.3 and the traditional band entered the contest Nov.12. One solo player got a good result, but the other results weren't satisfactory. I put some pressure on myself to be better. The tears welled up in my eyes when I got to know the result of band competition. It's expected, though. The kids were disappointed. However, they did their best. Most of them are the beginners and younger than other schools. I'm happy the kids and I overcame difficulties together these months. I've been in charge of the band for 5 years. These kids are united and the loveliest. I'm so proud of them!

bike riding

My sis-in-law gave us the sliding bike. I sometimes ride to school. Finally, we decided to buy a Merida 21-speed bike a few days ago so we can go bike riding together. It cost $10500. We rode along the Da-Han River to 鶯歌 this afternoon. The round trip was about 20km. We'll try to ride to 淡水 next time.

National Day 2008

Yesterday was the National Day and it's on Fri., so we have a long weekend! I went back to my parents' in Taichung Thu. evening, so did my sis. Both of our husbands didn't go with us, so it's our family time! Our dad drove the Mitsubishi Savrin and took us to 埔里 Winery, Sun Moon Tea Factory, and 草湳 Wetlands. I enjoyed being with my family. It seemed I went back to the old days and was still a kid. We're always my parents' daughters after becoming others' wives!
